Day School
St. James' Parish Day School is one of the ministries of St. James' Episcopal
Church. We believe that each child should be allowed to grow in an understanding
of God's love. Our school program teaches Christian values, guiding the child
toward honesty, compassion, empathy and an appreciation of the world. A weekly
chapel service that includes music and lessons is part of our program. We
base our program on the belief that the first five years of a child's life
are the most important.
During that time, the child takes first steps from self-interest to consideration
for others and from total dependency on adults to self confidence. The purpose
of the school is to provide an environment for children where they can extend
their world beyond their immediate family and neighborhood and also to provide
an opportunity for each child to grow at his/her own pace physically, intellectually,
emotionally and socially in a happy atmosphere of love and understanding.
The school program includes four Tuesday/Thursday nursery classes, four Monday/Wednesday/Friday
nursery classes, three pre-kindergarten classes and one kindergarten class.
Each class has one teacher and one assistant teacher.
Nondiscrimination policy
St. James' Parish Day School has a nondiscrimination policy in regard to all

of the State Licensing Board. Each teacher is selected for their educational
background, preschool training, teaching experience, as well as their sensitivity
to the individual needs of the young child.
