Food Locker

The Food Locker distributes approximately 60 bags of food to those in need every Friday, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. These include canned and dry food, fresh fruit and bread. Financial support and food items are contributed by parishioners, but food donations are also received from local schools and scout troops and from Calvary Presbyterian and United Methodist Churches. Day-old bread items are donated by Vons and Pavilions supermarkets.

Each Christmas season the Food Locker organizes a holiday market. We set out tables in the parish hall with an array of unwrapped gifts from which people who come for food can choose presents for their families.

Volunteers on a weekly or occasional basis are always welcome to help assemble bags on Friday mornings or distribute them later in the afternoon. For information, contact office@sjcsp.org.
