Despite the limitations of the pandemic, we are excited to offer two new Advent opportunities beginning this week. We hope you will journey with us!
Every week of Advent we will offer a weekly quote for private reflection, as well as daily scripture readings. Join us at our daily 8:00 pm Compline service (link here) as we discuss and reflect on these readings.

In addition to the weekly reflections above, all St. James' parishioners are invited to participate in an online writing program running through Advent. We will offer two writing prompts each week—to be posted on St. James' Facebook page and website—to inspire your thoughts on the meaning of Advent and Christmas, particularly in this unprecedented year.
Submit your writing at 40days40writes.com/advent—a web platform developed by parishioner Robin Rauzi—and, if you like, share your reflections on a related blog. Given the limitations of social distancing, we hope that this is one way that we can share life together during this Advent and Christmas season. The first week's prompt is below:
Prompt 1: Advent is a period of waiting and anticipation. What does such a season mean to you this year?
