Dear St. James’, with much in the news about Hurricane Hilary’s approach, I wanted to write with the assurance that our 8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Sunday services will continue as usual and that you will also be able to join us at 10:15 via livestream. Our Senior Warden, Dr. Lucy Jones, will speak to us about the realities of climate change, and about some of the ways that we at St. James are responding.

This is also an opportune time to sign up for the Sept. 16 diocesan Climate Change Summit. A registration link is here (https://diocesela.org/commission-on.../climate-change/) providing the option to attend either virtually or in person. Organized by the Bishop’s Commission on Climate Change, the summit will highlight local disaster resiliency with insights provided by a subcommittee cochaired by Lucy and by environmentalist Mary Nichols.

Episcopal Relief & Development has recommended the NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center website (linked here) as a source to check regularly for more information about the hurricane's progress.

With prayers for all impacted by the storm, and for all first responders,

Michelle+
