We have an important update regarding this Sunday’s Mass on the Grass and Blessing of the Animals / Celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
Due to temperatures expected to reach over 96 degrees this weekend, we will no longer be gathering at Garfield Park. Instead, we will be holding BOTH of our regularly scheduled Sunday services:
We know that the 8:00 am service was not originally scheduled because we were planning to gather at Garfield Park, so we want to make sure everyone knows that the 8:00 am service WILL be held as usual in the Church.
We will still celebrate the Blessing of the Animals at the 10:15 am service! Parishioners are welcome to bring their pets for a blessing, but please do not feel that you need to bring your animal out in the heat. We will also offer a special prayer for all animals during the service, so every beloved pet will be included whether they are with us or comfortably at home.
Our potluck will still take place following the 10:15 am service, so please bring a dish to share if you are able.
Our highest priority is taking care of our parish community. We are grateful that we can still gather safely and comfortably, and we look forward to celebrating together this Sunday!
