We are delighted to welcome the Rev. Fr. Christian Anderson as the new Rector of St. James’ Episcopal Church!

As we look toward an exciting new chapter in the life of our parish, we give thanks for God’s continued presence and guidance in our community. We are grateful for the opportunity to welcome Fr. Christian, Anastasia, and their sons to the St. James’ family and look forward to the gifts, leadership, and ministry they will bring to our congregation.

Meet Fr. Christian

The St. James’ community is invited to meet Fr. Christian during our Sunday service on November 15, 2026. This will be a wonderful opportunity to welcome him personally and begin getting to know him as we look ahead to the future of our parish.

Fr. Christian’s official start date at St. James’ will be Sunday, January 10, 2027, when he will begin his ministry with us as Rector.

Dear good people of St. James',

I am honored and excited to be called as your next Rector! Anastasia and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know your search committee and vestry throughout this journey. The search process can sometimes feel long and arduous, but it also creates sacred space for God to speak to both the church and those discerning a call.

We are grateful and humbled that this journey has led us to South Pasadena, where we will have the privilege of joining a vibrant and welcoming community that loves Jesus and is eager "to learn, to love, and to live the Word of God."

We cannot wait for you to meet our boys, Kwame (6) and Kwaku (3),and to begin building relationships with all of you.

Please know that you are already in our prayers, and I ask that you continue praying for God to guide us as we begin this new chapter together. As long as we keep our eyes on Jesus, I believe our future is bright and filled with His abundant grace.
